Sound Library FAQs
How does the sample library work?
The sample library is curated entirely by our ever growing network of independent artists — vocalists, producers and session musicians. All samples are created and uploaded by the artists themselves. We do quality assurance on every pack before making it available in the library. Our artists get paid each time you download one of their samples, and we give you a gentle push in their direction to check out the rest of their work such as their direct tracks and services. If you like the sound of a particular artist, pack or sample, we also make it very easy for you to reach out to them if you have a request for something custom.
Is the sample library free?
Whilst all users have free access to a limited selection of promotional samples within the sample library. The sample library is not free, you must subscribe to one of our sample library subscription packages to access the full library and all of its features. You can see our pricing page for more information.
What are packs?
Packs are sets of samples uploaded by our artists to the sample library. You can download individual samples or the full packs from within the sample library. You can also find an artists packs from their profile page. All packs and samples are royalty-free, meaning that you can use them within your productions without having any issues with copyright, royalty payments or any extra fees aside from your monthly sample library subscription. The only thing you cannot do is re-sell the samples or publish them as they are, they are licensed to you to be used within your own projects.
How does your search and filtering system work?
You can search and filter tracks, packs and samples by attributes such as genre, key, BPM, instrument, and more. For vocals, you can also search by the artist's attributes such as gender, vocal range and style. With Silver and Gold subscriptions, you get access to even finer search — including the ability to search for specific lyrics, words or phrases within vocal samples. This makes it easy to find exactly what you need, whether you are searching broadly or laser-focused on something specific.
How do you rank your artists?
We rank our artists on feedback received through sales, downloads and services. Within the sample library, artists with high quality content that are active in the sample library (E.G. artists that regularly contribute to the library) will be prioritised over artists that contribute less or with less value in terms of the quality of their work. If you are ranking highly in our sample library you can expect to be featured throughout other areas of the platform as well as seeing a stronger flow of users visiting your profile and purchasing your direct tracks and services. Artists that have pro membership will have priority over non-members, however we want to stress that the most important metrics we rank by will always be the quality, recency and relevance of an artists work.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
When you cancel your sample library subscription we stop taking payments immediately and your access remains active until the end of your current billing period. You are free to use any remaining credits in that time. After cancellation, all contacts and unspent credits stay on your account and will be available if you decide to re-subscribe in the future.
What can I do with the samples?
All samples in the library are royalty-free and licensed for both personal and commercial use. You can use them in music you produce, film and TV projects, games, podcasts — anything you can think of. No additional fees, no royalty payments, and no clearance required. The only restriction is that you cannot re-sell or re-distribute the samples in isolation — they must be used as part of a new work.
How does the credit system work?
You pay for a monthly subscription to the sample library. Each month, depending on what tier you are on, we will credit your account with the appropriate amount of credits. These credits can be used to download any samples from within the sample library. Subscription revenue is paid out to all of our artists on a monthly basis depending on how many downloads they have accrued in that period.
How can I get samples without spending credits?
There are two ways to access samples without using credits. First, some vendors mark a selection of their samples as promotional — these are available to anyone, even without a subscription, as a free taster of the library. Second, Silver and Gold subscribers can use our "Pay With Social Like" feature. Instead of spending credits, you follow the artist on a connected account such as Spotify or SoundCloud. This saves your credits while helping artists grow their audience. The feature is available for any pro vendor that has opted in, so there are plenty of opportunities to collect samples while saving your credits.
What are contact requests?
Contact requests are set on your account on a monthly basis. The amount of requests depends on your subscription package. Contact requests are required for you to be able to make contact with an artist for any custom requests. This is to prevent our artists from being spammed with requests by users that have no intent of making a purchase, and also ensures that you get a prompt response when you do reach out to our artists.
What subscriptions do you have?
We have 3 tiers, bronze, silver and gold. You can learn more about what is included in each tier on our sample library pricing page.
How many credits does it cost to download a sample?
We keep it simple — one sample costs 1 credit, regardless of whether it is a short one-shot or a long loop.
What happens to my credits each month?
Your credits are yours to spend or save. Any unspent credits will always roll over each month and accrue on your account. Even if you decide to cancel your subscription your credits will remain on your account and be available for when you decide to join us again.
How do I request custom vocals?
You can request custom vocals from any vocalist who is active on the site. Their profile page will display a 'request custom vocals' button as well as any of their tracks, packs or samples.
